Stop-Frame Animation

This week, we have been making our own stop-frame animations.

We learnt that famous films like 'Wallace and Gromit' and the TV programme 'Shaun the Sheep' are made using this film-making technique.

This type of animation is made up of lots of still photographs. Between each photo being taken, the animator must move the puppet a tiny bit. When they are put together, it looks like the puppet is really moving!

We made our puppets and backgrounds, then used a digital camera to take our photos - also called 'frames'.

We were very impressed with our first efforts and held a 'premier' on Wednesday morning!

Year 1 can't wait to make more films in the future.
